SUMMARY:Victoria Hillman: Forgotten Little Creatures Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:I am Victoria Hillman, I am a Wildlife Researcher, Photographer, Artist, Writer, Speaker and Guide. Although now based in Frome I grew up in Shepton Mallet and still spend time here with my parents.\nI studied Zoology with Marine Zoology before going on to study for an MSc in Wildlife Biology and Conservation. Nature has been a passion from an early age with photography following closely behind as a way to show people what I was seeing and studying. Over the years I have developed her scientific and photographic skills specialising in macro photography championing the smaller species we have around us and the importance of ethical photography.\nI have been a judge for international photography competitions (BPOTY and BWPA) and am currently on the judging panel for WildArt POTY. I have contributed stills, video and articles to magazines, books and TV series including National Geographic and The BBC.\nI published my first book Forgotten Little Creatures in 2017 celebrating local wildlife through bringing together photography with scientific and historical facts, all taken within 40 miles of my home and am now continuing the project and working on future books which will include artwork and folklore as well.\nAlongside my work on the project, I have returned to art creating needle felted ornaments and sculptures and pencil drawings from my own photographs as Woolley Wildlife, some of these drawings form part of the ongoing Forgotten Little Creatures Project as well as new collections launching in 2023 that will team up with research and conservation charities to raise much needle funds for them to carry on their work.\nExhibition runs until 13th November.\n
