DESCRIPTION:Cellist Chris Hurn and Kora player Stefano Vandelli have known each other and collaborated musically for over two decades.\nstring2string represents the union of many cultures, with original compositions rooted in Italian and English heritage, performed with the quintessential instruments of classical western and traditional West African music; the cello and the kora.\nSome of the early compositions were written for solo kora, a 22 stringed instrument with a sound that most resembles the harp, or kora with other instruments such as mandolin and flute, while more recent works have been written with the cello in mind from the outset.\nIt is hard to disagree that the sweet and complex sound of the kora combines exquisitely with the rich melodic resonance of the cello: a string to string meeting of melodies.\nDoors at 7pm. Music from 8pm.\nPlease note, due to licensing laws, no under 18s after 9pm.\n
