DESCRIPTION:In this workshop, you’ll be drawing on lived bodily experiences to inspire new writing or to deepen existing works in progress. You’ll be invited to investigate the stories held within your own body and the bodies of your fictional characters. You’ll look at extracts from literature and poetry for inspiration\nand explore question such as: What does the scar above the right eyebrow know? What does the ache in the back reveal? What is hiding in the crook of the elbow?\nThe workshop will offer activities, prompts, time to write and opportunities to share your words with others. It is suitable for writers at all stages – whether you’re coming to the page for the first time in years, or whether you have a regular writing practice.\n \nAbout your facilitator\nAlison Powell is an experienced facilitator and has run workshops on behalf of various universities, schools and festivals throughout the UK. She founded WriteClub in 2016 and offers popular writing courses, retreats and 1-1 mentoring. She has an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University and has been published in various anthologies and magazines. Her work has been placed in international writing competitions, including the Bath Flash Fiction Award, Mslexia New Writing Award and the Bridport Prize for First Novels.
