Veteran sax player Dan Spanner emerged from the Goth/New Wave/Space Rock/Festival scenes of the eighties with bands like Ring of Roses and Webcore to join the legendary ‘Chainsaw Circus’, Archaos with The Thunderdogs in the nineties.

This led to the formation of the Spannerman Performance Band with a show that included aerial stunts with saxophone, trapeze, comedy and magic.

Dan currently fronts a number of other ensembles: The Spanner Big Band (16-piece jazz orchestra), Spanner Jazz Punks (psychedelic performance art), Spanner Trouvères (medieval troubadours) and ambient sound project, Eddy Whirls.
