Literally Shepton – STAND UP FOR SHEPTON
🍻 The Beer & Comedy Experience with James Dowdeswell
MC Mark Hurman is coming to The Art Bank with a hand-picked line-up of comedy talent — topped off by our headliner James Dowdeswell, as seen on Russell Howard’s Good News. Expect wit, warmth, and a night fuelled by laughter (and excellent beer, of course!).
About James Dowdeswell
Smart, quick and gloriously unpredictable, James is the UK’s leading craft beer comedian — bringing his sharp storytelling and love of the local pub to stages across the world. From Shanghai to Slovakia, Malta to Melbourne, he’s honed a show that’s erudite, off the cuff, and refreshingly clean.
He first burst onto the comedy scene after winning the Jongleurs New Act of the Year Award in 2000, and has since appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC) and Extras (BBC), where he played the Count in the unforgettable David Bowie episode. He’s also fronted World Cup Round Up for Sky Sports.
The Pub Manifesto
James is the author of The Pub Manifesto: A Comedian Stands Up For Pubs, published by CAMRA Books in 2018 and nominated for a Guild of British Beer Writers Award. The book was even listed by The Evening Standard as one of the best Christmas reads by a comedian.
