Hip City returns with a floor-filling selection of northern soul, Motown and classic 45s — this time with a very special guest behind the decks: Billy Shannon.

Billy first stepped into Manchester’s Twisted Wheel back in 1964 and never looked back. After a golden-age tour of the 70s scene (including Wigan Casino), he went on to run Timewarp music distribution and launch the Baseline record label. Now an in-demand record dealer and veteran DJ, Billy brings an authentic, energetic set drawn from decades of digging and dancing.

Come early, stay late — and bring your best moves.

• Parking: Two free car parks (Regal Road and Old Ostry) are very close to The Art Bank (free after 6pm). Additional limited parking along the high street, plus free parking (up to 3 hours) in Aldi and Tesco car parks, both just a few minutes’ walk.
