Live: Tom Veck- Songs in the Key of Strife

Join Tom Veck for his ‘Songs in the Key of Strife’ show.  Support by the Real Cheesemakers.

Warm, charming, funny and relatable, Tom Veck is a unique and creative musical force not to be missed.

Despite hints of Minchen, The Concords and Bo Burnham, Tom stays true to his own unique style, taking the listener and the show itself to unexpected places! This year he’s taking his show to the Edinburgh Fringe and be treating Shepton to an exclusive preview! Is it a hilarious collection of comedy songs? Is it a gameshow? Is it a really crap raffle? It’s all of the above and more!

Doors at 7, show from around 8. £8 in advance from the venue (plus booking fee online), £10 on the door.

“The Real Cheesemakers is Wiltshire’s foremost nonsense group, dishing out high quality absurdity and the finest wallop of cods. Their debut album, Grated Hits, was released in 2019 after almost 30 years of writing and contains songs spanning subjects as diverse as Weasels, Homicidal tortoises, roundabouts and oxygen starvation as a result of playing in a brass band.

Their highlights include performing with Chap-Hop legends Professor Elemental and Mr B Gentleman Rhymer, entering the Eurovision Song Contest, touring with Creed Bratton from the US Office and supporting Goldie Lookin’ Chain at their 2019 Xmas bash. Last year they provided the music for multi-award winning comedy horror short, Guiltea; winning the gold award for best soundtrack at the Fortean International Film Festival. For this show they’re playing as an acoustic duo, offering low-key and smooth versions of their songs, whether you want them or not.
